Nutrigold Folic Acid Folacin
Folic acid is involved in the synthesis of DNA and RNA and is needed for growth, a healthy digestive system and nervous system, and plays a role in the formation of red blood cells. Folic acid is important for foetal development. Supplements can carry the CMO advice; The Government’s Chief Medical Officers advise that all women planning a pregnancy should take a 400 mcg Folic acid supplement daily from the start of trying to conceive until the 12th week of pregnancy. Food sources naturally high in folic acid are; endive, black eyed beans, lamb’s liver and raspberries.
As a guide we would recommend a good optimal level of Folic acid to supplement the average British diet would be approximately 100mcg daily. However, if you are looking to a support a specific health issue you can use higher levels. The official Government recommended daily allowance (RDA) for Folic acid is 200mcg.
