The Government has not set an RDA for this important nutrient. However the RNI’s (recommended nutritional intake) are: males 75mcg/µg and females 60mcg/µg. However, we feel this is a little low and would recommend about 150mcg (elemental weight) daily, as an optimum level.

Selenium is intimately associated with the prevention of free radical damage, as a co factor of glutathione peroxide and as a component of the other selenoproteins is involved in our natural oxidationreduction systems (it’s a key antioxidant).
