Pantothenic acid (Vitamin B-5) (Calcium Pantothenate)
Pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5) contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal mental performance, normal synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, Vitamin D and some neurotransmitters and reduction in tiredness and fatigue.
Pantothenic acid (B-5) is involved in protein and carbohydrate metabolism and hence plays a key role in the production of energy. Food sources naturally high in pantothenic acid are; parsley, broad beans, endive, trout and chicken. As a guide we would recommend a good optimal level of pantothenic acid to supplement the average British diet would be approximately 60mg daily. However, if you are looking to a support a specific health issue you can use higher levels. The official Government recommended daily allowance (RDA) for Vitamin B-5 is 6mg
