Pain relieving Supplements for Joint & Muscle

Whether you are a bodybuilder who is looking for that slight edge that can be obtained by using a joint supplement or have painful joints and muscles that joint health supplements can provide relief for, there is most likely help to be found. Health store shelves are filled with compounds, rubs, creams, and pills all aimed at providing relief from joint pain and aching muscles.

NSAIDs provide relief from most sources of pain

What are considered as anti-inflammatory and nonsteroidal drugs, known as NSAIDs are frequently prescribed by doctors and sports enthusiasts to aid in relieving those painful areas of the body that have been put to work a bit too strenuously, resulting in too much stretching and straining.

Even young muscles and joints can become stressed by exercise they are not accustomed to and some relief can generally be found by rubbing on a joint support remedy that contains camphor, menthol, and some methyl salicylate in a cream formula intended to be massaged onto the sore areas. Often it is the massaging that is more effective than the cream that is applied to the affected area but in any case, there is relief to be found.

Strains, sprains, and simple backaches can be helped by supplements

Joints and muscles that have been overworked and become sore and swollen can benefit from a joint supplement such as the combination glucosamine and chondroitin which has proven its worth as a hard to beat combination. They replenish joint cartilage as they support renewal of that cartilage and help reduce the symptoms of arthritis.

Both glucosamine and chondroitin work best when teamed with the fish oil Omega-3 fatty acids which work to reduce inflammation while glucosamine and chondroitin are most beneficial at effectively assisting in the rebuild of fascia, cartilage, and connective tissue. And for those who are on an aspirin regimen for their heart the ingredients found in glucosamine help renew the cartilage healing rate that is suppressed by aspirin use. SAMe or S adenosyl methionine is a co-enzyme useful for its ability to elevate people’s mood (similar to dopamine) and also valuable for its ability to repair joint tissue much as glucosamine itself does.

SAMe shows much promise in its ability to be an effective joint health rebuilder and has valuable anti inflammatory properties and has been prescribed for both depression and arthritis treatment.

Muscle and joint care begin with preparation

Joint care should begin before performing vigorous physical exercises to be most effective but we often do not think about preparing for the stress and strain until it’s too late and the damage is done. Aging need not be a process whereby our body loses muscle tone and joint supplements are worthless. Many older people still exercise every day, keeping themselves in good condition and relatively free from painful movement. Joint health is even more important as we age because our body cannot heal as quickly as it once did and the need for joint support is even more vital.

Omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation in our joints

While both glucosamine and chondroitin have proven their value as aiding in the rebuilding of our joints, the omega-3 fatty acids reduce much of the wear and tear put upon our body by reducing inflammation that causes joint pain.

Anti-oxidants such as those found in omega-3 and flaxseed oil are known to be essential for healthy muscles and joints for they fight the joint damaging enzymes known as collagenases while reducing the inflammation they cause. This is believed to be the cause of arthritis pain as well as other pains and aches. While it may be difficult to eat the fatty fish that these fish oils are derived from, most good joint supplements carry an abundant supply.
