Energy Boosting

Vitalize yourself with Supplements for Energy Boosting

Many of us feel we are over worked today and seem to never have enough energy to complete our daily activities. Look on the grocery store or healthfood store shelves and you will see lots of “energy boosters”. Drinks that promise to revitalize us and give us energy simply by drinking enhanced water in a bottle, a can or even by eating an energy bar.

How safe and how effective are these so called miracle elixirs?  Are they just a caffeinated drink or is there something actually useful in them? Are there some energy vitamins that can give us a much needed boost in the middle of our busy day? Will caffeine or a cola drink actually help “wake us up” or is something stronger needed?

Understanding energy and what it does for us

Energy has different meanings and uses depending on the person involved. An athlete will have different energy requirements than the office worker just trying to stay awake in the afternoon.

Breaking it down to cell structure we find that our body burns calories just by breathing. Each activity we pursue will burn more calories and this is determined by our metabolism rate. Some people simply have a higher rate of metabolism and burn far more calories than others. If you are one of those who simply look at a piece of chocolate cake and seem to gain five pounds you most likely have a low rate of metabolism, meaning you burn fewer calories when you exercise.

Calories are a measurement of the energy potential in the food we eat and are the fuel our body needs to perform daily tasks, even simply to breathe and exist.  We get calories from foods we eat and drink and some foods provide us with more calories than others. Fats give us calories but they are mostly useless and tend to store up in our body, creating fatty deposits that block arteries and generally slow us down.

High energy foods like vegetables and fruits provide us with a good source of calories or energy. Many of these energy drinks are loaded with energy vitamins and minerals that are full of energy making calories without adding unnecessary fat.

Stimulants or true energy sources

Among the known stimulants are caffeine, green tea, guarana, kola nut, and yerba mate which are herbal sources of caffeine related compounds, red pepper (Capsaicin), and synephrine (from bitter orange).

While these high energy caffeine sources will give a feeling of high energy quickly, they don’t solve the problem of why we need more energy in the first place. Energy vitamins will increase levels of activity in a more natural way and help us feel good at the same time. Ginseng and Capsaicin are naturally stimulating ingredients without including caffeine.

Coenzyme Q10, B vitamins such as niacin, vitamins B6 and B12, folic acid, and thiamine provide energy in a natural way as do some of the amino acids like tyrosine, taurine, creatine, and carnitine. These, when supplied in a liquid form can provide us with true natural energy supplements without the over stimulated feeling most people get from high doses of caffeine.

Natural energy vitamin supplements give energy naturally

Vitamins and minerals, which are already in our body, must be replenished daily in order for our metabolism to function and by adding some of the energy boosters like amino acids, fats, and proteins that support the metabolism process we can feel more energetic and burn more calories each day.

Many who eat poorly will have deficiencies in some of the energy providers and most likely will have that sluggish feeling. This can be helped by colon or liver cleansing and by the addition of natural energy vitamin supplements like additional B vitamins, Coenzyme Q10, and amino acids like carnitine. So it comes down to the basics of eating a balanced healthy diet which should supply plenty of energy for daily activities.
