acupressure points make the Shakti Mat™ a very effective tool for releasing tension and inducing a state of deep relaxation. When you use the Shakti Mat™ regularly for 20 to 40 minutes, you enable your body to release endorphins and oxytocin, the ‘feel-good hormones’. As a result, your body feels relaxed, you may sleep better and experience relief from stress, back and neck pain.
Also well-being and renewal, both physically and mentally. The color orange - the color of happiness – represents joy, creativity and spiritual awareness. The color green can impart feelings of calmness, harmony and inner balance. The Shakti
Acupressure Mat is a medical technical aid designed for personal health care.
The original bed of nails was made of wood and metal spikes. Today, thanks to cleverly designed use of new, gentler materials, this ancient self-healing tool of the mystics has been reintroduced into the modern world as the Shakti Mat! Warm, tingly pulsating sensations will quickly replace the slight discomfort you may feel then you begin using your Shakti Mat. Focus on
breathing deeply and just relax.
Soothing warmth will soon radiate from the treated areas, and your body, mind and nerves will all unwind, allowing you to reach a state of deepened relaxation. According to ancient Eastern Knowledge, it is in this state that the body’s“intelligent healing” can begin. Chronic fatigue, aching backs and insomnia are the signs that we have forgotten the art of relaxation.
Daily use of your Shakti Mat can help you reach a state of peaceful mindfulness in a body that feels revitalized. And, if you’re wondering about our name, allow us to enlighten you! Shakti is an Indian goddess - the Divine Mother who represents energy, change, creativity, fertility and compassion.
Listed below are descriptions on specific "problem" areas of the body. We have modeled the suggestions using a thin cotton cloth as to not offend and preserve modesty.
MAIN POSITION
STOMACH Lie face down on the Shakti Mat™, but please use caution. This can be a very intense, but powerful position. You should be accustomed to back treatment first.
NECK & BACK Place a pillow or rolled up towel under the Shakti Mat™ so that it shapes itself appropriately for the neck. Correctly positioned, it should give support from the back of the neck all the way to the base of the skull. This is very good for relieving tension in the shoulders and in particular for relaxing the Trapezium muscles that runs all the way up to the base of the neck.
JAW Lie on the Shakti Mat™ so that your face is touching, rotating to your other side midway through your meditation. If your skin is sensitive, place a thin cotton cloth between the mat and your skin (a towel would be too thick to feel the benefits). Clenching jaw and gritting teeth can be alleviated, and as a result a new shine to the whole face appears.
KNEES AND THIGHS Lie on your side, with the Shakti Mat™ underneath your hip and thigh areas, turning over midway through your meditation. This position
FEET By standing on the Shakti Mat™, this position works on the reflexology zones which have an overall effect on the body. Using the Shakti MatTM on the soles of the feet improves stability and balance. The feeling of having both feet on the ground increases with this position.
