Horse Chestnut

Horse chestnut is the name given to Aesculus hippocastanum. This is a plant noted for its benefits to vascular health. It has been used historically to treat and protect blood vessels, particularly in the legs, and it also helps reduce ankle swelling. Horse chestnut is taken for a wide variety of vascular problems and venous diseases. Examples include varicose veins, haemorrhoids and leg ulcers.
